Thought about setting up a UT2004 server or if someone wants to set one up, getting that ball rolling. Vote in the poll. Let's see where this goes.
Inside joke: Years ago three of us here at the office played a fair amount of UT2004 and 8bit made a real accurate scaled up version of our server room and neighboring offices and hallways. Elevator to the drop ceiling, company logo on the floor opened to a pit of lava, bot pathing, the works. Unfortunately the files are long lost. Someone should buy us UE4 so we can recreate it.
UE4? The one that requires like a $19 monthly subscription fee or something like that? It's gorgeous, but not that gorgeous.
Heh. Well, I was joking. But, if you wanted to dev a game that's an insane deal ($19/m + 5%) for a AAA class engine.
Finding that I've got a UT2004 stats profile from my brief online play time... Hah. http://ut2004stats.epicgames.com/playerstats.php?player=2426158
Kinda hard to have UT4 yet. UT3 was fun as hell too, and still looks sexy. Hell, even UT2004 aged fairly well (especially when you can enable all the ultra high "Holy !" settings nowadays).
Alright, King is cursing me now because his UT2004 is a retail copy lost at his house somewhere and mine is on Steam, so I've been playing in all my downtime today since he brought this up.. Entry in the server list is still to come, but we're online (in a very basic way) with an ONS-Torlan server. Real map rotation and mutators to come in the future. 184.22.66.202:7777 or PR Gaming Unreal in the server list. Got a few bots in there to keep it lively when you don't have real players.
Do you know if you need to modify an *.ini file to get 1920x1080? I didn't see that preset in the menu, and still in class right now. :/
I was just doing Windowed 1600 by something, but it looks like it's doable - http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2733868
Since it's a PR hosted server, I took the liberty of setting up the TS channel and adding the fancy little icon
