Hey guys, after getting a crew together and playing more DayZ again for the first time in... a long time.... I started hopping around servers and settled on one for a little while that was a PvE Overpoch Napf server and as much fun as it was (kinda - no roaming AI or stronghold missions, and only one serious difficult mission that was rare) I thought about renting a server and bringing one online for {PR} again. So, in short, does anybody have suggestions for a potential server? Scripts/mods/map, that sorta thing? I've been leaning towards Overpoch myself, loving the variance in weapons but it only supports Napf and Chernarus in which case I'd probably stick with Napf. I can say AI, missions, tow/lift, evac heli, usual suspects will likely be a thing. Anyway, post comments below! Always open to suggestions and would love to see who all is looking for a new server!
I do not care for Overpoch much myself - I much more prefer regular Epoch. But to be honest not even that does it for me anymore as basebuilding and base maintenance and guarding and farming just got really old. If I started playing DayZ again it would be as a roaming bandit, like in Vanilla. If you wanna play with my server files from my Epoch Napf server I can send them your way. Scripts are way outdated of course but you might be able to pull a few things off of it...or at least get some ideas of what scripts everyone wanted added to the server at that time. If you need any help with scripting or have questions hit me up.
What was the last map we were playing on? I liked that map. But can't go wrong with chernarus. Not that it matters, can't play anyways
Like, on the last {PR} server, or when we last played - the two of us? Cause we played a lot on Chernarus, like Durn's World and stuff. But PR5 was on Napf - Napf is pretty cool. Also, what happened to you moving and getting internet, you dunce? Yeah, that's understandable. Sadly these days it seems everything else has pretty much died off - pretty much all servers are a variation of Epoch or Overpoch. Vanilla DayZ is hanging on by a tiny thread but that's about it. Even still, I would venture a guess that everyone is migrating to Standalone/A3 as time progresses. As for scripting - I think pretty much everything out there from back then by now has either been retired, or retired and remade into a new version, or updated several times over, things like that.
I'm keen to play again but prefer Epoch. I know stuff like gold is simpler in Overpoch but overall it's not worth the heavier mod. If we could get a new Napf server up that would be awesome, Abaddon's work on the previous server was great and later on in its life he'd managed to balance out the AI really well. Epoch Napf gets my vote.
Napf is a solid map, I like it a lot. Taviana 2.0 is my favorite map by far, but you have to have a decent population to get any action.
Ok for real though, Celle is an EXCELLENT MAP! But no one has ever heard of it and when it came out there were only a couple German servers running it. :/
